Sometime after the summer of 2018, I had relocated to a new city with my family hundreds of miles from where we came. That holiday season I bought myself an early Christmas present; my very first 3d printer. It was an Ender 3 V2, completely brand new. Little did I know the rabbithole it would take me down.

As a software engineer, I had always looked for ways to “hack” things or mod them and this printer was no different. I discovered an entire world of tuning and precision I had never expected, but fell into happily nonetheless. Before I knew it, I had pulled the stock control panel off, and replaced it with a raspberry pi with a touch screen and changed the firmware completely.

I learned about resonance tuning, and pressure advance calculation, and automated print bed leveling and so much more. I then learned about “slicing” and preparing an object for printing. I learned about resolutions and print supports and bed adhesion. I was able to print just about anything and print it well.

After a while I grew discontent with many of the free designs available to anyone. I took it upon myself to take a course on Udemy and began to design my own objects. I started making all sorts of holiday prints for the family like custom tree ornaments. I was definitely a big hit that year at the family Christmas party!

One day the knob on the wheel deck of my sim racing seat broke and I decided to try and solve my own problem. It worked! From that point on, my passions combined. I melded my love of gaming and passion for IT with my new 3d printing hobby and began offering a few items on Ebay. As time has continued so has the number of items I carry and so has my production capacity. I added a 2nd printer after a while and applied the same customizations to that one with lessons learned from before. 

In late 2024, I decided to expand my presence to Etsy, and expand  in the types of items I carried. Not everyone seemed to like some of those items and things started getting reported for “encouraging illegal activity” and removed from the platforms. This encouraged me to build this site, where no matter what I can offer what I want for sale without having other users report items and have the them taken down. So here we are today, with our own site, and expanding presences on multiple platforms and an ever expanding product line and inventory!

Ebarb 3d Prints and Technology is currently operating as a sole proprietorship owned by myself, Brian Ebarb operating out of my home in Duson Lousiana. I am a husband and Father of 3 biological children, 2 step children and one soon to be step-grandchild. Although I leave out the word “step” when it comes to all of them and consider them all my own.  Profesionally I am a senior software engineer as a day job, and do this as a passion and hobby. My other passions and hobbies of course include VR gaming and PC gaming, and all sorts of nerdy technology.
